As the Apple iPhone 7 launch take place on Wednesday, September 7 at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, San Francisco, the colour of these devices remains to be an interesting subject. To ensure a wider public can tune in, Apple will live to stream the event on its website. From colour of the iPhone 7s to their waterproof status, all of them have been speculated about, but the picture has been drawn too neatly by the tech giant to leave any clues behind. Though with the time of the launch nearing, speculations are running wild about the specifications and the new upgrades in the phones. The new set of iPhones is most likely to be called the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
Among all other upgraded specifications that excite the users about the new iPhones, the colour of these devices remains to be an interesting subject. Apple has time and again experimented with the colours, that these devices are sold in. The tech giant of Cupertino, California has continued this trend it seems, with the Piano Black and the Dark Black this year. But the introduction of two new colours means that Apple would have to ditch its most trusted shade in the recent years, “The Silver Gray”. Last year at the iPhone 6 launch, Apple had continued its trend of adding a new hue to its brand. It chose the Rose Gold.
This year, Apple is looking to establish its hold in the global market and has attempted some serious up gradation of its software. Earlier, with the iPhone 4s, it had trekked into an adventurous territory by choosing the colour white, though the colour was later put into the ground after negative reactions. The white phone with black on the sides resembled a Panda, as many had complained and was highly distracting while watching videos. The colour white also has a tendency to get dirty easily and looked off after a few months of purchase.
This year, the users can expect 5 different shades for the Apple iPhone 7, with the newly added Piano Black and Dark Black. Here are the 5 hues, that are expected from Apple:
Black and Jet Black
The beautiful black finish has a matte appearance and an innovative jet black finish has a deep glossy finish. These two colours make their debut in the iPhone brand while replacing one of the most trusted colours, the “Space Gray”. Space Gray has been seen as an option while buying iPhones, since the launch of the iPhone 5S.
The Silver colour is almost an absolute certainty for the new iPhone 7 even before rumours started surfacing. It has been widely bought and appreciated by the consumers. First launched with the iPhone 5, it was seen with the iPhone 6S and performed well amongst the users.
Gold works well due to its relation with royalty. So if the user wants a more premium looking phone, gold is the way to go. It was first introduced with the iPhone 5S.
This was a touch of an experiment with the iPhone 6S that somewhat worked for the company. The users bought it and though the demand wasn’t overwhelming, it had a loyal band of customers.
The iPhone 7 was launched at the annual Apple iPhone launch event on September 7. The company is looking to regain its position in the global market and has gone through heavy upgrades in the newest series of phones. The change of colours might not be in that list of heavy upgrades, but it should also be understood that the first choice is always based on appearance.
