Airtel Payments Bank has announced the integration of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) with its digital platform. With UPI enabled payments, customers will not have to furnish their bank details to enable transactions. Users can easily create electronic IDs for money transfer, which ease the process as well as ensure more data security. With the new addition of UPI payments service, Airtel Payments Bank has become the first Payments bank in India to integrate it on the digital platform. Today, technology giant Google too launched its UPI based payments service called Tez in India. It is a mobile application to help you in digital transactions.
With the Airtel Payments Bank, you will be able to make secure digital payments to both online and offline merchants. Customers will now be enabled to make instant money transfers to any bank account in the country. Commenting on the launch, Shashi Arora, MD and CEO, Airtel Payments Bank said, “We are pleased to announce UPI integration with Airtel Payments Bank. This would allow all our 20mn bank customers to create their personalised UPI handles on the Airtel app, and enable them to make digital payments in both the offline & the online space.” He further informed that users will be able to link their bank accounts to BHIM app and make UPI payments via the Airtel Payment Bank. This can be done by selecting Airtel Payments Bank from the link or change account section and select airtel payments bank from a list.
Customers can also use MyAirtel app (Bank section) to scan any UPI QR code for making merchant payments. Online and offline merchants can leverage Airtel Payments Bank as a payment mode to accept payments from their customers.

1. Update you’re my Airtel App
2. Select UPI from the Bank tab
3. Consumers need to create a personalised handle. Initially, it will be your mobile number.
