Chinese electronics company Xiaomi, this year has done well with its lineup of Redmi smartphones. The company has just released a teaser which hints that Xiaomi is about to launch an upgraded variant of its Mi 5 smartphone called the Mi 5s. The previous version had turned out to be a bit disappointing, as later smartphones like OnePlus 3 got the better of it. Mi 5 was launched at the Mobile World Congress with much anticipation but turned out to have many issues related to heating and more. Xiaomi had planned to host an event in Beijing on September 27, and it is highly likely that the new Mi 5S will be launched on the same day.

Leaks and rumours suggest that the Mi 5S smartphone will have a big 3490mAh battery and a large internal storage of 256GB. The Android Marshmallow operating system was released some time back for smartphones of the company, like the Mi 5, Redmi Note 3, and Redmi 3S.
In the camera department, Mi 5S is likely to come with a 16-megapixel rear camera and a 4-megapixel UltraPixel front camera. The might also support 4K video recording. The phone is said to have a full HD display screen size of the 5.5-inch panel. In terms of connectivity, Mi 5S will support Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi, USB Type C, NFC,3G, VoLTE, GPRS, EDGE. If the pattern of release of Xiaomi smartphones is to be taken into consideration, it is expected that the new phone will first launch in China and then in India.
