Tata Motors, which had unveiled the Hexa SUV at the Auto Expo in production-ready guise earlier this year, is aiming to launch it in January.
Although the Hexa is based on the same platform as the Aria MPV, it looks more like an SUV. So, it gets a dual-coloured front bumper, dual hexagonal patterned front grille with chrome accents, smoked projector headlamps, tough-looking fog lamps, 19-inch alloy wheels to give it a raised SUV-like stance, and roof rails. The rear section gets horizontal two-part tail-lamps with wraparound LED lights.
It will be powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine which delivers a claimed output of 154bhp and a torque of 400Nm. It will get a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic transmission. Drivers will have four modes to choose from—Auto, Comfort, Dynamic and Rough Road.
Although the launch is at least three months away, we get to drive the Hexa as early as next week. One of the reasons could be improving the production-ready version based on feedback from multiple sources.
