Tata Motors on Tuesday announced that Girish Wagh will succeed Ravindra Pisharody as the head of the commercial vehicle business unit. The company has also appointed Wagh to the executive committee.
Girish Wagh was the head of product line in the commercial vehicle and according to the company his successor will be appointed in due course. “Girish Wagh will take charge of the new responsibilities with immediate effect and will closely work with Ravindra Pisharody for a smooth transition,” said a company statement. Last week, the Mumbai based company announced that Ravindra Pisharody will step down as the head of commercial vehicle business due to personal reasons. Pisharody was leading the commercial vehicle division of Tata Motors since June 2012.
The company also recently created the position of chief operating officer (COO) and Satish Borwankar has been promoted to take the position.
