SpiceJet logs 93% passenger load factor in Sept to top in India

Low-cost carrier SpiceJet today said that it has achieved the highest Passenger Load Factor (PLF) in India for the month of September.

Low-cost carrier SpiceJet today said that it has achieved the highest Passenger Load Factor (PLF) in India for the month of September. (PTI)

Low-cost carrier SpiceJet today said that it has achieved the highest Passenger Load Factor (PLF) in India for September, as revealed by DGCA statistics – PLF is a measure of aircraft seats utilization, it measures the percentage of seats filled.

Spicejet topped with a PLF figure of 93% for the month of September.

This is the sixth month in a row the airline has topped the charts in terms of PLF. It is also the fifth consecutive month SpiceJet has maintained a PLF of over 90%.

The airline has also bettered its OTP (On-time Performance) over the past few months and its OTP for the month of September stands at 85.1% as computed for its operations across the four metro airports of Bangalore Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai

Shilpa Bhatia, Senior VP and Head of Sales and Distribution, SpiceJet, said “We continue to deliver strong performance despite September normally being a weaker quarter. Our On-Time Performance has also shown a significant improvement over the past few months. We are confident that our new winter schedule will witness the load factors and customer confidence trending in the right direction.”
