Shocking! Air India flight diverted from Delhi as pilot not trained for low-visibility landing

Considering that this is winter and the flight was heading for Delhi and that too in morning, how authorities ended up putting this untrained pilot in charge is truly mind-boggling especially as the consequences could have been terrible.

In a shocking case of negligence, and Air India flight was forced to be diverted after it was found that the pilot concerned was not trained to land the aircraft in low visibility conditions. Considering that this is winter and the flight was heading for Delhi and that too in morning, how authorities ended up putting this untrained pilot in charge is truly mind-boggling especially as the consequences could have been terrible. A report said, that a Delhi bound Air India flight coming from Bhopal has been diverted to Jaipur because the pilot was not trained to land in low visibility. On Monday, most flights in Amritsar, Jammu, Srinagar and Leh were delayed by an hour or so due to unfavourable weather conditions, reports said.

    WHAts so shocking about it ??? Not all pilots are trained for low visibility. Sold media,. Shame!

      Very shocking i wouldn't like to be a penger, if a pilot flies half trained, say if there's emergency a penger falls sick on a flight and need emergency treatment and the pilot can't land because he's not trained to land in low viability.

          Well said! Be it Air India or MTNL state owned companies are readily defamed with the connivance of the Government to benefit private sector cronies.
