Commercial vehicle major Ashok Leyland (ALL) has said it is open to selling company-owned dealerships as well as spare parts outlets across the country. All currently has 17 dealerships and 200-odd part outlets.
“We had set up company-owned dealerships and spare parts outlets in places where existing dealers found it difficult owing to lack of finance, as well as to avert inventory losses. These dealerships and parts outlets are basically aimed at spreading our wings across the country and address service/spare parts availability issues,” Vinod Dasari, managing director, ALL, said here.
“This is not our core business. We have created it to help our dealers. Not only these outlets helped us increase sales and improve service obligations, but also become profitable. We are open to selling all these outlets/dealerships,” Dasari said. However, he declined to give any further details.
