New entrant Reliance Jio Infocomm (Jio) has yet again topped the regulator Trai’s speed test for April 2017 clocking an average 4G download speed of 19.12 Mbps. This is the fourth consecutive month that RJio has topped the speed test. The top three incumbents — Bharti Airtel, Vodafone India and Idea Cellular — have also improved their performance in terms of data speed.
The RIL subsidiary’s average speed for April is also its highest so far in the current calendar year, an analysis of the latest figures from Trai revealed.

The country’s largest mobile broadband services provider, Bharti Airtel, with a subscriber count of 108.9 million, had reported data speeds (4G) of 18.49 Mbps, 16.49 Mbps and 17.43 Mbps in March, February and January, respectively.
Jio began commercial operations in September last year. The country’s largest telecom operator, Bharti improved its performance in April. It clocked a 4G download speed of 10.15 Mbps last month, which is an improvement from its speed in February and March 2017 of 10.44 Mbps and 9.14 Mbps, respectively.
