Reliance Retail’s fashion and lifestyle portal AJIO.com has made its way into the list of top five retail shopping apps securing the fifth spot during the July-September quarter ended September 30, 2016, according to data shared by mobile app tracking body App Annie, reports Hita Gupta in New Delhi. During the preceding quarter, the fifth spot was occupied by Snapdeal which has now moved to fourth, while Myntra which was at the fourth position is not any more in the top five.
The top three retail shopping apps remained consistent with Amazon on the first spot, Flipkart second and Paytm at number three. The data is based on app downloads seen on Google Play Store and iOS, App Annie said. In July, Snapdeal announced its foray in online booking for travel, hotel reservation, food ordering and home services, which are available on its mobile apps. Ahead of Diwali festive sale, in September, Snapdeal also re-branded itself with a new logo and campaign – Unbox Zindagi. Maybe, because of these offerings it improved its ranking during the quarter.
AJIO.com was the surprise entrant into the list of top retail shopping apps considering that it was launched only in April and is six month old.
