In a startling revelation, popular social media platform Reddit’s Chief Executive Officer Steve Huffman has confessed to have edited the posts made about him by Donald Trump fans. BBC quoted Huffman as saying on Thursday that rather than change the meaning of the posts, he simply redirected abuse targeted at him to the moderators of the “r/the_donald thread”. Supporters of President-elect Donald Trump had criticised Huffman for banning a community board dedicated to discussing a conspiracy theory involving Hillary Clinton.

The “Pizzagate” conspiracy alleged that Hillary and her campaign chief were involved in a child abuse ring operating out of a pizza restaurant in Washington DC. “It’s been a long week here trying to unwind the r/pizzagate stuff,” Huffman said in a post on Reddit.

Huffman added that his colleagues were angry with his actions and he “most assuredly won’t do this again”. After many Reddit members were furious at Huffman’s actions, and accused him of censorship, Huffman posted, “As the CEO, I shouldn’t play such games, and it’s all fixed now.”

Huffman had left to work on online travel service Hipmunk, before returning to Reddit as chief executive last year. Reddit is not the only platform to have come under sharp criticism after Donald Trump’s win in US elections. Facebook has also been accussed of spreading fake news about Hillary Clinton and helping Trump win. The social media giant, however, denied the charges.

President Obama also accussed Facebook of giving fake news a space and spreading misinformation about Hillary Clinton. Days after his win, Trump said on CBS’ 60 Minutes programme, that Twitter and Facebook had helped him win.

“I think it (Twitter and Facebook) helped me win all of these races where they’re spending much more money than I spent,” Trump had said.

This just shows the left is living in denial . They are much like a narcissistic lover that can't accept t break-up. They will never accept even the slightest blame for their own failure

As a liberal, I had 0 percent of my posts deleted, at various websites, when all I did in the face of blatant racism and conspiracy theories from the right wingers, claiming how corrupt the democrats supposedly are, is bring up Nixon, Ollie North and Regan's administration selling weapons to Iran against the embargo, Timothy McVeigh and his crew, right wing abortion clinic bombers, etc. The Right Wing has become an American Fascist Movement. The w campaign, Trump refused to talk about any real issues when asked during debates. The w campaign was based on hate rhetoric just like past dictators in history. Trump is one of the rich and exploits illegal immigrants in his hotels and he's not the only rich person to do that. The vast majority of the wealthy are conservative. I've known too many managers and owners of businesses to believe that the rich are liberals. It's funny... Just 30 years ago, most people had better pay, benefits etc, and the rich were still rich. Now they claim totally outrageous lies, of why they can't bring people up to a better minimum standard of living, while claiming it's the cost of wages (wages haven't gone up with the rate of inflation) cost of production (I worked in automated controls in plants and know they not only moved most jobs overseas, but have used technology to cut cost to 1 tenth or less of what it used to be) and they have grossly raised prices in stores on all food and items over the years. So how could anyone support Trump?Easy, those people never pay attention to facts, but only to their own gossip circles. Those same people also think that California is somehow reliant on the Federal Government for constant aid, when in fact California, Oklahoma, New York and Texas finnancially prop up the middle section of the country, IE Red States. Most of the center of the country gets more than their fair share of Federal money back based on a percentage. Not only that, but quite a few states like Wyoming get more money from the Federal Government, than they pay out every year. Those states are known as Debtor States. Check facts people. The ones crying the loudest about things like Welfare, that live in the Red States, are actually the states getting the most propping up by the Federal Gov. It's all doented by the Federal Government.

@IANS You are a complete . Taking what he said out of context and making it fit with story is very annoying and is why people don't believe the media. Trump said-The fact that I have such power in terms of numbers with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, et cetera, I think it helped me win all of these races where they’re spending much more money than I spent. You know, I spent my money. A lot of my money. And I won. I think that social media has more power than the money they spent, and I think maybe to a certain extent, I proved that."They're" most likely meant the other presidential campaign.Facebook and Twitter is the place he reached out to people and didn't have to spend millions of dollars on tv and radio ads like Clinton and other campaigns did.For they love of god people don't read into propaa.

Reddit has always been extremely liberal. Liberals will down vote all non liberal stories just so they never make it to the top. Reddit's ability to downvote stories makes it a propaa tool and not a useful source of information.

You need to be an to try to convince us about your theories. FB and twitter helped Trump because they were the only channels of communication we had to defend him and spread the truth about the corrupt Democrats and their candidate HRC and the content of the wikileaks. There was no hope with the bias corrupt media that you represent very well. How sad you still don't understand that the people talked and now the President is Donald Trump.Stop this silly speculations. The Democrats lost the elections because they are not anymore the party of the people they are now the party of billionaire donors, mega corporations, Saudi Arabia, Monsanto, Wall Street and movie stars. They lost connection with the average American, sad but true.

The left overstepped as usual and won this election for Trump. They have no one to blame, but themselves. When you live in a bubble that's what happens.

Lol defend the misogynist, racist that said he can grab women by the claiming it's "just locker room talk". Lol ok, it's ok to discuss rape and child molestation as long as it's in a locker room.Tell me, have you actually watched him speak? Have you listened to his redundancy? "America did something, they did something and it was great. It's great what America did!" How the can you take this seriously?
