Tata Sons chairman emeritus Ratan Tata, along with Ronnie Screwala, has invested an undisclosed amount in an online pet care company Dogspot.in.
Serial entrepreneur turned investor K Ganesh, along with India Quotient also took part in this investment round.
The company will use the money in expanding its current range of private label products. According to the company the Indian pet care industry is pegged at over $1.22 billion.
This is Tata’s first investment in start-ups this year. He has already invested in more than a dozen start-ups in differing sectors.
