PM Narendra Modi shares life tips with young CEOs at NITI Aayog Champions of Change event

PM Narendra Modi addressed a gathering of young entrepreneurs and CEOs startups at an event organised by NITI Aayog. Here is what he said.

PM Narendra Modi addressed a gathering of young entrepreneurs and CEOs startups at an event organised by NITI Aayog. The event called Champions of Change was organised by India’s policy think-tank, was aimed at bringing together young businessmen at a place and share ideas. PM Modi, attending the event, met with the entrepreneurs and talked about various ideas for India’s development. At the event, Modi addressed the gathering and said, “With changing times, we have to change our processes and systems.” He said that it is important to integrate the strengths of society with the systems. He said, ” The policy makers in the government are relatively senior. But the group I am meeting today is young. I want both to work together for India’s good.” Additionally Modi stressed on the importance of innovation in India. He said, “Innovation is life. When there is no innovation, there is stagnation.”

At the event, presentations were given by the young CEOs on the topic of ‘New India by 2022’, where they talked about Digital India, health and nutrition, education and skill development and India’s soft power. Modi said, ” I have been hearing the insightful presentations by young CEOs on a wide range of subjects, at the programme organised by NITI Aayog.” In his speech, Modi said that every citizen has something or the other to contribute to the nation. He added, “We want to integrate these strengths with our growth.”

Modi said that good ideas are important for development, but there is also a need to work in their execution. He said, “Along with good ideas, let us work towards the roadmap and institutional arrangements to fulfil the ideas.” Talking about employment, Modi said, “Need flexibility in Labour laws and safe infrastructure to enable job creation.” Modi also addressed the issue of middlemen in India. He said that it is unfortunate that corruption was institutionalised. He said, “The time has come to change this. The time for middlemen is over.” He added, “Middlemen are out of work in this Government and they are the ones who are most unhappy.”

Before the meeting, Modi had met the entrepreneurs for a private chat over dinner yesterday. Even Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Power Minister Piyush Goyal, IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar and NITI Aayog Vice-Chairman Arvind Panagariya were at the event to meet the entrepreneurs.
