The Australian, Dutch and Malaysian governments will hold national memorial services on July 17, the first anniversary of the shooting down of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 over Ukraine, Prime Minister Tony Abbott has said.

Abbott told the Australian Parliament on Monday that lawmakers will be recalled to the Parliament House for the national service and a plaque, inscribed with the names of all the victims, will be unveiled in the House of Representatives’ gardens, reported Fox News.

All the 298 people onboard the Boeing 777 aircraft, which was flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, were killed when it was shot down with a surface-to-air missile over conflict-torn eastern Ukraine.
