Taxi aggregator Ola on Wednesday announced extension of Ola Share on its platform to five more cities such as Guwahati, Bhubaneshwar, Kochi, Coimbatore and Ludhiana. Ola Share enables economical fares and reduced congestion since a ride can now be shared by up to three people at any point in time, the company said in a statement.
With this, Ola Share is now available in 15 cities. Customers using the service benefit from up to 50% discount on cab fares. Ola’s security features like Track your Ride, Share Ride Details, SOS, Emergency Contacts, 24×7 customer support and number masking are available for users on Ola Share, the company said.
“Shared mobility is the future of transportation in India and Ola Share has enabled citizens to share their rides and pay only a fraction of the actual trip cost while contributing towards reduction in vehicular pollution and congestion in their city,” Raghuvesh Sarup, CMO & Head of Categories, Ola said.
In the last 8-10 months, Ola Share has been able to save upwards of 4.8 million kilograms of carbon emissions along with over 2 million litres of fuel, the company said. Up to 3 people can share a cab together in Ola Share.
