Private sector lender Kotak Mahindra Bank has enabled Flipkart’s mobile site within its own banking application, thereby expanding its in-app shop, mStore. Before this, mStore used to allow users to book air tickets, hotels and bus tickets.

With Flipkart being made available, users can now buy a wider range of things via the application.

Using mStore to shop on Flipkart will also enable faster checkouts and choice of more relevant payment options, since the customer’s billing and delivery details will already be available with the bank. Also, shopping through the bank’s application will reduce risk of failed transactions, the lender said.

“As a bank, we are conscious of our customers’ needs and want to ensure the best of all services for them. We are delighted to have a partner like Flipkart, which understands the needs of varied customer segments and offers products across the wide spectrum of categories,” said Deepak Sharma, chief digital officer at Kotak Mahindra Bank.
