Managing an event which requires handling multiple things manually is not an easy proposition. Pre-event preparation is a tedious and time-consuming exercise which may take a month or two as it entails tasks like ticketing, website development, mobile application, emails and many more.
But help is here! Gujarat-based event tech start-up Hubilo has tailormade solutions to make events easier with the use of technology. Through Hubilo, event organisers can create, promote, manage, and analyse a number of events. Hubilo automates event websites, HTML emailers, white label event app, ticketing and networking platform.
“Organising an event is the most hectic task which requires multiple activities to be closely coordinated at all levels. Moreover, currently over 80% processes are done manually by the event organsers. We are helping them to make the entire process online—taking over routine tasks and allowing the software to do it in an easier and much more efficient way,” said Vaibhav Jain, co-founder of Hubilo.
To make a task like website development for an event easier, Hubilo has designed different types of templates which design the website within an hour. Similar templates are available for mobile application.
“It is most difficult task to build a website or mobile application for an event, but here at Hubilo this can be done in an hour. We got this idea when we observed that organisers are spending almost a month to make a website or application. We have designed ready templates for website development and mobile applications,” said Jain.
Hubilo, founded in August 2015, was incubated at iCreate with a seed fund of `15 lakh and also received a scale-up grant of about `10 lakh from Gujarat government in 2016. The start-up had raised an undisclosed amount of funding from 12 angel investors in November last year. Among the 12 angel investors are Girish Mathrubootham, founder of cloud-based customer support platform Freshdesk, a group of investors including VC Karthic, Miten Mehta, Umasankar Nistala, Rakesh Patel, Akash Bhavsar, Jeevanandhan Rajagopal, Vikas Chadha, Ameet Rughani, Samad Makani, Avinash Raheja and Ashish Nanda.
So far, the start-up has handled more than 350 events in India and abroad. Gujarat government, Andhra Pradesh government, ICICI Bank, HSBC Bank, Asian Paints, United Nations, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, FICCI, Nasscom, CII and TiE Chapters are the major clients of Hubilo.
Hubilo is now aiming to go global and currently it is strengthening its team and technical ability. Globally, marketing events is a $ 300 billion business of which event tech solutions’ market share is about 10%. Hubilo will raise funding through VC funding in the next eight to 10 months. Jain says, “We want to expand in international market and for that we will raise funds of `20-25 crore in next eight to 10 months. We are looking for investors who can help us in technology, marketing and grow our business.”
Hibilo will use social media, blogging and Google advertisements for international marketing. So far the start-up has generated revenue of about `1.5 crore and aims to generate business of over `10 crore after entering the global market in the next two years.
