Infosys has announced an investment of $4 million in a two-year-old US-based technology firm – Waterline Data Science – by picking a minority stake. Waterline is a provider of data discovery and data governance software.
Founded in December, 2013, Waterline has received investments from Menlo Ventures and Jackson Square Ventures. It provides software which automates the process of data collection.
“We see a need for automated data discovery solutions like Waterline Data Science in helping our clients achieve greater business value from their Big Data assets. This investment underscores our commitment to our clients to bring innovative data science solutions across our platforms and offerings,” said Ritika Suri, senior vice president of Corporate Development, Infosys.
Infosys under CEO Vishal Sikka has been very active in picking up minority stakes in technology startups.
