Premium audio devices manufacturer Harman International has slapped a legal notice on online eretailer Shopclues.com for selling ‘counterfeit products’ from various vendors.

In a release, Harman alleged that the JBL products listed and offered for sale to consumers on the website are counterfeits and replicas of the real products designed to ‘take advantage of the superior value and reputation of the original JBL by Harman brand’.

A probe by Harman found a sizeable number of fake JBL products on the site. Harman has requested the online portal to withdraw all products and remove any listings of fake JBL branded products as well as blacklist the vendors.

The portal has also been asked to implement certain vendor verification procedures so as to prevent such occurrences in future.

“This action against Shopclues serves as a reminder for all consumers to remain vigilant against fake products sold online,” said Sharath S, Director-Lifestyle business at Harman India.

I hope they nail Shop Clues to the wall. These kind of fraudulent practices should be dealt with severely, cheating the public with cheap Chinese rip offs!!! If I were to pick up a Harmon product, will do it from Harmon India's website, safest bet & with a warranty.
