After car makers, it is now the two-wheeler manufacturers joining in to offer GST rates before the July 1 date for implementing GST. Bajaj Auto has offered post GST reduced prices to customers from June 14. The customers will save up to Rs 4,500 depending on the model and the state in which the motorcycle is purchased. Bajaj Auto is the first motorcycle company to extend this benefit to customers before GST implementation, Eric Vas, president, motorcycle Business, Bajaj Auto said. Bajaj Auto would pass on the price saving accruing out of GST to its customers. “Customers no longer need to wait for July 1 to buy their desired Bajaj motorcycle,” Vas said. Bajaj Auto was the first in the industry to upgrade its entire model line-up to BS-IV standards, much before the April 1, 2017 deadline. GST rate for two-wheeler are 28%. Motorcycles with 350 cc engine and above will attract an additional 1% cess.
