“I have to think like a tweenager half the day”

1. The job

I love the enormous creativity my job demands of me. Making mobile games is the business of making ‘fun’ and that is no mean task! I have to keep all my ‘dinosauric’ ideas of my age (I’m 47) at bay and think like a tweenager half the day. The other half is equally wild — I have to become a Marwari ‘munim’ and watch every moving cost and revenue item in the company and measure everything that moves. I hate reminding young people to become responsible. We have 75-80 people less than 30 years old working with us and they sometimes need silly reminders like, ‘Come on time’, etc.

2. The weekdays

I wake up at 7am and instantly sit in meditation for a few minutes. Post the morning tea etc, I do a 50-minute Art of Living meditation. Office begins at 10am and ends at 8pm. I am very hands-on, to the point of being overbearing and micro-managing but that’s what it takes to run a hyper creative games company. I live 10 minutes away from my office and hence always have dinner with my kids, wife and nana. Then comes Netflix! Deeper into the night, I always read The Wall Street Journal and New York Times on apps (sometimes FT) and then sit for an ‘Om Namah Shivaay’ meditation. Then, it’s lights off at 1am.

3. The weekend

I am always at home or at the Cricket Club of India (CCI) with my family. Weekends are also about running at the racecourse, writing and managing my social network for entrepreneurs called therodinhoods.com.

4. The toys

Just my iPhone 6. I don’t need anything else.

5. The logos

I usually wear Tommy Hilfiger shirts because they fit me perfectly and Lacoste tees.
