Ford revealed the new Figo Aspire today, setting a new standard for compact cars in India with a sub-four-meter sedan combining premium design, class-leading safety features and advanced technologies.
“With the new Figo Aspire, we are challenging consumers to expect more from their car,” said Mark Fields, president and CEO, Ford Motor Company. “The Ford Figo Aspire demonstrates that a small sedan can boast refined, modern design, exceptional craftsmanship, excellent safety and an outstanding array of smart technologies.”
Due to go on sale later this year, the new Figo Aspire enters India’s highly competitive compact car segment, which made up 45 percent of India’s market in 2014. Ford expects the segment to grow to around 1.6 million units in India by 2018, from 1.1 million in 2014.
The company will also export variants of the Figo Aspire to compete globally.
The Figo Aspire will be built in Sanand, Gujarat at Ford’s newest manufacturing plant.
