E-commerce marketplace Flipkart on Wednesday inducted two more senior executives into its leadership team, close on the heels of a senior management rejig at the company last week. Former Calvin Klein India CEO Rishi Vasudev has been appointed vice president for fashion (retail) whereas Parameswaran Balakrishnan has taken over as vice-president of human resources at Flipkart’s supply chain department.
Vasudev will spearhead the profit and loss accounts for all fashion categories at Flipkart. He has previously worked at Aditya Birla Group, Louis Philippe and Arvind Brands, where he led the end-to-end makeover for brands like Arrow, Gant and Izod, the company said in a statement.
Meanwhile Balakrishnan’s role will involve driving all business partnering and talent acquisition for supply chain at the e-commerce company.
Last week, Flipkart had bestowed more responsibility on Mukesh Bansal, who joined Flipkart as VP-fashion after it acquired Myntra, the online fashion store he founded. In the new role, apart from manning Flipkart’s fashion vertical, Bansal is overseeing marketing at Flipkart and handling additional portfolios. As part of the same rejig,
Ankit Nagori, who was head of Flipkart’s marketplace business, was also given the responsibility of handling the books category. Michael Adnani, VP-retail and head of strategic alliances, and Amitesh Jha, who heads consumer electronics and computers at Flipkart, were told to report directly to Mukesh Bansal.
