Right when you thought BlackBerry had lost interest in its smartphone business, the Canadian company has come back with an Android-based device—DTEK 50. The Priv, thanks to its price, was not much of a success but the DTEK 50 aims to fix that by offering a secure mid-range Android smartphone.

Right when you thought BlackBerry had lost interest in its smartphone business, the Canadian company has come back with an Android-based device—DTEK 50. The Priv, thanks to its price, was not much of a success but the DTEK 50 aims to fix that by offering a secure mid-range Android smartphone.

The phone comes with a 5.20-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels at a PPI of 424 pixels per inch. It is powered by an 1.2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor and it comes with 3 GB of RAM. The phone packs 16 GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 2000 GB via a microSD card. As far as the cameras are concerned, the DTEK50 packs a 13-MP primary camera and an 8-MP front shooter for selfies.

The BlackBerry DTEK50 runs Android 6.0.1 and is powered by a 2610 mAh non-removable battery. It is a single SIM (GSM) smartphone that accepts a micro-SIM. Its estimated street price is Rs 26,999.

    The most expensive 617 based phone is priced at 15K and have arguably best camera under 20 K.This costs around 40% more - so it will be only puchased by BB fans...
