Sun Pharmaceutical Industries chief Dilip Shanghvi has beaten Mukesh Ambani to the top spot in Forbes’ richest Indians list. Dilip Shanghvi, with a net worth of $21.5 billion, is now the world’s richest Indian – this ‘update’ happened just two days after Reliance Industries chief was ranked India’s wealthiest for the 8th year.

As per a ‘real time’ update from business magazine Forbes, known for its annual rich lists, Sun Pharma Group’s Shanghvi was ranked richest Indian, followed by Mukesh Ambani and tech czar Wipro chief Azim Premji at second and third positions, respectively, among Indians.

On the global rich list, Shanghvi today moved up to 37th position, while Ambani slipped to 43rd position.

Earlier on Monday, Forbes had released its annual Rich List for 2015, wherein Ambani was ranked 39th — highest among Indians — while Shanghvi was at 44th place. Premji was ranked 48th on that list, from which he has moved up one place now.

Shanghvi’s networth today stood at USD 21.5 billion, following a sharp rally in share prices of his group companies, while that of Ambani was USD 20.4 billion.

The Annual Rich List had put Ambani’s wealth at USD 21 billion, based on share prices and exchange rates as on February 13. Ambani has been ranked as richest Indian for eight consecutive years now on the Forbes’ annual rich lists, even as his ranking has come down sharply from among top-ten positions globally earlier.

We Indians are responsible for mukesh being poor than dilip specially when crude oil input cost of mukesh’s 375 million barrel crude refining business going down by about 19 billion dollar a year . Our policies and deeds in petro products pricing, taxing and using are so foolish that mukesh is unable to sell his produce in India and keep on opening and closing his petrol pumps and lpg bottling business. On the other hand we made dilip rich by becoming sick due to consumption of tobacco, self made indoor and outdoor pollution, alcohol, addictive activities, self created unclean and lazy practices coupled with fondness for fatty and sugary food and many other such easily preventable disease causing factors. So it is the utmost duty of policy makers at all levels to encourage us to adopt right path and of ourselves to adopt right path rather than wrong. Any way congratulation dilip and keep it up mukesh.
