Ever since Mukesh Ambani announced that he will be providing a feature phone that is effectively free of cost, there has been a lot of chatter about it. After days of wait, the Jio Phone pre-bookings finally started on August 24. Reliance claimed that millions of people booked the phone and due to this heavy rush, the company had to even pause booking. Then, it was reported that the delivery date has been pushed from the first week of September to September 21 due to this heavy demand.
However, according to a report by India Today, you will have to wait some more time to get your hands on this device. The report quoted a retailer saying that they received a message from Jio saying that the delivery has been postponed and will start from October 1. However, the reason behind this delay wasn’t made clear. So as heartbreaking as it may sound you will have to wait longer before getting the Reliance Jio feature phone.
Since the devices are being brought from Taiwan, they will land first in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad. After landing at these locations, the Jio phones will be sent to Jio Centres and Reliance Digital stores from where they will be directly sent to the dealers. The firm will also use the services of other logistic companies to make deliveries of Jio Phone.
