Mercedes-Benz E-Class completes 20 years in India; ‘Edition E’ launched

Mercedes-Benz India, on Wednesday, launched a special edition of its top-selling sedan E-Class. Called the Mercedes-Benz ‘Edition E’, the special edition marks the 20th anniversary of the E-Class in the country. The country’s top-selling luxury sedan – Mercedes-Benz E-Class – was also the first luxury car to be ‘Made in India’. Available in 3 variants – E200, E250 and E350 CDI, the Mercedes-Benz Edition E is priced between Rs 48.6 lakh – Rs 60.61 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Though the Mercedes-Benz Edition E looks more or less similar to the regular E-Class, it gets slightly redesigned headlamps and grille. Besides that, it also gets Edition E badging, nad Garmin’s navigation system. Since it’s just a limited edition, it continues to feature the same engine options – 2.0-litre petrol, 2.2-litre diesel and a 3.0-litre diesel – that power the regular model. All the engines come mated to a 7-speed automatic gearbox.
