Maruti Suzuki will be chalking up another staggering sales record in its already copious record book. The latest reports from the automaker show that the year 2014 proved to be godsend with sales figures about to touch a whopping 11.48 lakh units/annum, first ever in its history. This is indeed a big achievement and it’s an outcome of immense growth throughout various segments. The last record company set was in the year 2010 when it sold 10.6 lakh units.
Company is not only creating history but has also increased its market share by 4.1 percent in the April-November span up to 44.8 percent. And in the same time frame, company’s total sales shot to 13.1 percent to stupendous 8,35,912 units against 7,39,247 units, same period last year.
All the models of the company have shown exceptional growth. And also in comparison to other companies, MSI has witnessed healthy upswing with the introduction of newer models in different segments.
Sales figures for the last month show that 4 out of 5 top selling cars were from Maruti’s stable, out of which 3 were small cars. Alto as usual was on the top position with 24,200 units followed by Swift and Wagon R hatch with 17,900 and 13,545 units while Swift Dzire compact sedan grabbed the fourth spot with 12,000 units. Even the utility vehicle Omni performed exceptionally well with over 7000 units while the sales of newly launched Maruti Ciaz sedan, Ertiga, Eeco and Celerio were around 5000 units in the said month.
Maruti has built this trust in the masses through its hard work, outstanding marketing and sales strategies and through its wide service network which is spread all across India. And the same will continue with the upcoming new model launches in the market to give stiff competition in various segments. There will be brand new SX4-S cross to counter the growing popularity of Fiat Avventura, Etios Cross and Volkswagen Polo Cross. Company will also launch its popular Wagon R in AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) configuration as this new technology is getting used to many Indians. Besides this, there will be facelifts of Ertiga MPV and Dzire sedan to keep pace with the growing trend and lastly, Celerio being offered with diesel engine option.
