With the concept Mahindra & Mahindra TUV3OO we have another potential compact SUV that looks promising enough to shatter the hopes of rival carmakers. That the Mahindra TUV300 is even on the table is a big surprise as the carmaker’s experience over the last few years has not been great with compact vehicles and this new effort is quite a brave move.
From Logan to Vertigo, Mahindra & Mahindra has lurched from one sales disaster to another. Then we saw the compact SUV by the name of Quanto hit the road, which again did not live up to expectations as far as sales are concerned. The vehicle did not look good at all as it was almost a mini version of Xylo.
However, what Renault Duster, Ford EcoSport, Hyundai Creta and Maruti Suzuki S-Cross have taught the auto enthusiast is that the carmaker has to do a custom job for the compact SUV segment customers. That is exactly what is being attempted in the form of the Mahindra TUV3OO.
In fact, with the Mahindra TUV300, the company is going back to the basics down to even the engine and testing. The company is taking more inputs from the iconic Pininfarina. This in-house research and development is taking place in the company’s very own Mahindra Research Valley-aka MRV in Chennai.
From the name, size and the rest, the company us looking to give customers a new experience. Check this out:

The name of the compact SUV is said to be pronounced as three double ‘O’, which sounds catchy and unique, to say the least.
Mahindra TUV300: Size
In terms of size, Mahindra TUV3OO is pretty much at par with the likes of a C-segment sedan when it comes to space and comfort, but looks like an SUV.
Mahindra TUV300: Aesthetics
However, in terms of aesthetics, from what we have seen of the sketches, we see that the vehicle is based on concept of a combat tank with a hood that looks like a sea shell. The character lines on the side are also very appealing.
Mahindra TUV300: Inside
For interiors, we will see an in-car infotainment system, a beautiful dashboard and a premium quality material for the seats.
Mahindra TUV300: Engine
Expect the engine of Mahindra TUV3OO to be loaded with mHawk 80 power-mill for the petrol trim whereas the diesel variant can also be introduced, which is likely to deliver around 80bhp.
All things considered, can Mahindra & Mahindra do a U-turn in the compact car segment and drive out a winner? The Mahindra TUV3OO is likely to turn out more of a hit than a miss.
