Honda City gets a new variant; dual airbags standard across all trims

Besides the introduction of the new Honda City VX (O) trim, the company has also made dual SRS airbags as standard equipment across all trims in addition to standard anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD)

New Honda City lineup

Since the company has mainly added new features to the Honda City lineup, no changes have been made under the hood

Honda Cars India, on Friday, launched a new VX (O) BL grade of Honda City with updated interior. Positioned along side the regular VX (O) trim, the new Honda City trim gets leather interior in black colour and comes in manual transmission in both petrol and diesel versions. The new trim comes in Premium White Orchid Pearl and Alabaster Silver colours. Features like sunroof and Audio Visual Navigation (AVN) have been carried forward from the regular VX (O) grade.

Besides the introduction of the new trim, the company has also made dual SRS airbags as standard equipment across all trims in addition to standard anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD). With all these features, the Honda City now offers maximum safety features in its category. Rear ISOFIX & Top Tether Anchor for child seats have also become a standard fitment now.

Announcing the new City line up, Jnaneswar Sen, Senior Vice President, Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd said, “Our endeavour has always been to offer best-in-class products to our customers & we are happy to offer Premium & Luxurious Black Leather Interiors in the City. We are thankful to our customers for their tremendous response which has made the 4th Generation Honda City a huge success in India. We hope the mix of premium, luxury and safety enrichment to the City line-up will also be appreciated by our customers,” he further added.

Since the company has mainly added new features to the lineup, no changes have been made under the hood. The updated Honda City continues to feature the same 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel options.
