Bookings for the much-anticipated Bajaj V15 has begun across the nation ahead of its launch in March 2016. One can pre-book the vehicle by paying as minimum as Rs 1,000 at any Bajaj two-wheeler showroom, though the deliveries will commence from March end.
Bajaj Auto that didn’t take part in the recently concluded Delhi Auto Expo 2016, unveiled the vehicle two days prior to the Motor Show on March 1, 2016. What makes the Bajaj V15 a really special vehicle is the fact that is made using the Indian Navy’s first aircraft carrier INS Vikrant’s metal. Having said that, it’s only the fuel tank of the vehicle for which the metal of iconic aircraft carrier is used. Rest of the parts are made using regular material.
Expected to be priced between Rs 60,000 – Rs 65,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Bajaj V bike features a 149.5cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, air-cooled, DTS-i engine. Mated to a 5-speed constant mesh transmission, this engine belts out 12bhp at 7,500rpm and 13Nm at 5,500rpm.
The Bajaj V15 that will fall in the premium 150cc segment has 2044mm length, 780mm width, 1315mm wheelbase, 1070mm height ad 780mm saddle height. It weighs 135.5kg and offers a ground clearance of 165mm.
