Popular news anchor Arnab Goswami has resigned from his post of president, news and editor-in-chief of Times Now, ET Now and Magicbricks Now, after a decade-long stint with Times Network.
Confirming the news to FE, a source within the company says, “Yes, Arnab is moving on but viewers will be seeing him on Newshour for some more time.”
The buzz is that Goswami plans to turn entrepreneur and launch his own news channel.
Goswami is popularly known for anchoring The Newshour, the 9pm show on Times Now. The channel is a leader in the English news genre with the highest contribution of channel viewership through this show.
Goswami joined Times Television Network (now Times Network) in 2006 and has maintained a strong association with the company since then. He began his career in television news broadcast with NDTV 24×7 in 1995, where he anchored daily newscasts, and reporting for NewsTonight, a programme that used to air on DD Metro. Goswami started his career with The Telegraph in Kolkata, where he worked for a year before moving on to NDTV.
In 2015, Goswami was promoted to the post of president, news and editor-in-chief of Times Now, ET Now and Magicbricks Now.
