The e-commerce industry is now catching the ‘Make in India’ wave and providing a global platform for Indian sellers. Amazon on Tuesday launched its Global Selling Programme for businesses in India, enabling local manufacturers access to millions of buyers across the US and UK.
Amazon is extending two of its pioneering products — Selling on Amazon (SOA) and Fulfillment By Amazon (FBA) — to businesses of all sizes to go global with listing on Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk. Manufacturers and local brands can now seamlessly export products.
“Amazon today offers businesses an unprecedented reach to customers around the globe. Our Global Selling Programme in India is designed to assist Indian manufacturers & businesses to grow their business by leveraging Amazon’s state-of-the-art technology, world-class logistics infrastructure and customer service expertise,” Chad Goelzer, director, global sales, Amazon, said.
With FBA, manufacturers and sellers can store their products in Amazon’s warehouse; and Amazon packs and delivers the orders to customers, provides customer service and handles returns.
Amit Deshpande, director, seller services, Amazon India, said, “We look forward to helping businesses navigate through the complexities of selling globally and develop an international footprint by leveraging the enormous demand for their products across borders and thus transform the way India makes and sells.”
Amazon will provide local enablement solutions through verified third-party service providers.
