Amazon Great Indian Festival Sale: The interest in the online shopping sales of ecommerce majors just ahead of Dussehra and Diwali have grabbed the consumers’ attention and they are logging on in a kind of a frenzy to take advantage of immense price cuts and deals made available on products that are of daily use as well as those that are bought once a year or so – this is despite govt ordering the eretailers not to offer deep discounts. These ‘irresistible’ deals are generating some humongous numbers for the portals. The latest is that the Amazon App has become the No. 1 shopping app on both Google Play store and Apple App store.
Also, According to the company, it has received as much as 80% traffic on mobile and 7X more transactions compared to the daily run rate making the Amazon app the primary destination for shopping during its sale. Among the key highlights on Day 3 are that the Amazon App saw a 5X growth in new users.
According to the company the first 3 days of the Great Indian Festival was comparable to an entire month’s sale! But the standout category was mobile phone sales. This category has registered its biggest day in Amazon.in history. The most popular smartphone brands were Lenovo, Moto, Xiaomi, Samsung.
Alongside the mobile phones, accessories too registered big gains – it grew by 5X! Also registering big growth in sales was the memory cards segment – it logged a 10X jump with Sandisk and Strontium being the best sellers. Another related segment was powerbanks, which witnessed a 15X jump with Xiaomi and Lenovo being best sellers.
As far as the Auto category is concerned, it witnessed a spurt of 5x. Within the segment, the biker riding gear products grew 25X with gloves and facemasks emerging as the most popular items on offer. In the car accessory category, the growth was as high as 15X with products like air purifiers and air fresheners most in demand. The top brands were Honeywell, 3M and Godrej Aer.
Amazon saw huge growth in furniture segment on Day 3 – it logged a 12X jump. The top sellers in this segment were imported beds and Italian design sofas.
Amazon Fashion had a big day 3 with brands such as Ziyaa logging a 44X growth, American Tourister grew 32X, Raymond 23X, Hush Puppies 19X and Crocs 16X.
For the sellers, Amazon sale saw them registering orders from as many as 824 new pincodes Day 2. Some 10,000 sellers logged their biggest sales ever in first two days and almost 100 sellers entered the crorepati club in terms of sales from days 1 & 2.
