Yogi Adityanath in Amethi: In the run-up to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath came out all guns blazing against the Congress in a mega rally in this Congress bastion. Adityanath was accompanied by BJP President Amit Shah and Union Minister Smriti Irani on the dais. Attacking Congress, Yogi Adityanath said the BJP government will leave no stone unturned to bring development in Amethi and Uttar Pradesh. He promised that multiple developmental projects will be started in Uttar Pradesh and farmers will be benefitted from the various central and state level schemes. Adityanath slammed Congress saying that the grand old party never bothered about the villages of Rae Bareilly and Amethi. He said that Congress illegally grabbed the land of the farmers. Hitting out at the Gandhi family, Adityanath said, “the conspiracy by ‘Jija’ (Brother-in-law) and ‘Beta’ (Son) to land grab for Samrat Cycles, under the Rajiv Gandhi foundation’s name, will not materialise as long as we are here.”
