The chairman and managing director of Mahindra Group Anand Mahindra on Tuesday posted a card, which he called Sandesh2Soldiers, wishing Happy Diwali for the Indian Army and that too with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s quote. It was perhaps the first of its kind by a top businessman of the country, which shows, how much the people of our country, irrespective of rich and the poor, love armed forces.
At a time, when he still see discrimination in our society n terms of religion and castes, our defence forces, including the army us far away from all such nonsense and they fight enemies together and the same way they stay and eat together, showing the example of brotherhood.
Whether it is narrowing down on terrorists or natural calamities, our armed forces have always played crucial roles in everything. Who can forget the recent floods in Kashmir, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, the army used also it resources to rescue the people. From boat to helicopter they used everything. While writing this a scene that comes to mind was when our armed forces were not only rescuing people by boats in Srinagar when NC-Congress government was in power and also distributing food to those stranded in the terrace of their house.
And yet, when the entire country would celebrate Diwali on October 30, they would be busy guarding our borders or as thing stand today might have to answer cross-border firing id Pakistani soldiers attempts that on the day as well.
One must praise and Mahindra for the step he has taken in honour of our armed forces and hope others follow him too.
