Following the death of former Chief Minister J Jayalailthaa, there has been political instability in Tamil Nadu. With two factions within the AIADMK vying for their respective Chief Ministerial candidates, the political drama in the southern state has continued apace and is still doing so despite Supreme Court jailing party chief Sasikala for 4 years in the DA case and thereby disqualified her from heading the state.
To tighten her hold on the party, General Secretary VK Sasikala Natarajan on Wednesday appointed her nephew TTV Dinakaran as the Deputy General Secretary of the party. This has come five years after he was expelled from the party by J Jayalalithaa. Apart from him, S Venkatesh was also inducted into the AIADMK fold.

But who really is TTV Dinakaran? Well, he is the son of Sasikala’s brother Vanithamani. When Sasikala befriended Jayalailthaa, all the three sons of Vanithamani hogged the limelight. They are popularly known as ‘TTV brothers’. Apart from Dinakaran, the other two are Bhaskaran and Sudhakaran. Sudhakaran was the adopted son of former CM J Jayalalithaa, whose marriage created national uproar against corruption and favouritism.
Soon after, Sudhakaran was disowned by Amma. This didn’t stop the influence of TTV brothers as Dinakaran continued to remain close to Amma and also has been a Rajya Sabha member.
