The founder of Paytm has issued a warning alleging a scam by a person who is misusing his name to raise money. Issuing a warning, Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma has said that he has learnt that a person called Sahil is sending fake emails in his name. The Paytm founder took to Twitter to issue the warning. He tweeted, “Warning! Just learnt that some Sahil is faking myself and sending emails from looking like my emails (http://one97mobility.com is not us!).”

“Pls be aware. Don’t accept such fake email address and content as mail from me. This is quite a scam to raise money! Exploring legal action,” Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma said in a tweet.

Moreover, the Paytm founder explained how Sahil is misusing his and the firm’s name to raise funds.

“We have http://One97MobilityFund.com but http://One97Mobility.com pretends and making email that looks like me is quite a smart scamster trick!” Paytm founder clarified in another tweet.

Reportedly, Paytm may take a legal action soon.

Earlier, in the month of May , it was reported that Japanese conglomerate SoftBank has pumped in USD 1.4 billion (over Rs 9,079 crore) in Indian digital payments platform, Paytm. The funding will help Paytm — operated by One97 Communications — expand its payments bank operations as well as grow its user base and introduce more financial products for consumers.

Paytm offers mobile wallet (over 220 million users) and e-commerce services. It had raised USD 60 million from Taiwanese chip maker MediaTek last year
