With no trace of Honeypreet Insaan even a month after Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s arrest in two rape cases, the Haryana Police today reached the Dera chief’s native place in Gurusar Modia village in search of her. On Tuesday, the police had booked themselves in at the sector 5 police station in Panchkula.
“Conducted searches at several locations in Sri Ganganagar’s Gurusar Modia; did not find Honeypreet Insaan, Additional SP Panchkula M Malhotra was quoted as saying by ANI.
The police included her name as an accused in FIR number 345 in connection with the violence that took place in Panchkula on August 25, soon after Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was convicted. “She is an accused in the case now,” Panchkula Police Commissioner A S Chawla was quoted as saying by Indian Express. Honeypreet’s name has been included in the same FIR in which other Dera functionaries like Surinder Dhiman and Aditya Insaan, among others, had been booked. “Our efforts are on to nab her (Honeypreet),” Haryana DGP B S Sandhu said as per paper.
When the DGP was asked about reports of Honeypreet escaping to Nepal, there was no confirmation on it yet, “We are verifying each and every information, which we are getting,” the DGP said. A number of teams have been sent to different locations. The Haryana Police is also in touch with their counterparts in other states. It has also questioned arrested Dera functionaries Dilawar Insaan and Pradeep Goyal in this connection.
A key member of the Dera, Dilawar Insaan, was nabbed from Sonipat while Pradeep, another Dera functionary was arrested from Udaipur by Haryana Police. The special investigation team of Haryana Police also interrogated Dera Sacha Sauda’s spokesperson Vipassana Insaan in Sirsa on whereabouts of Honeypreet, Indian Express said.
