India loves its films and more than that we are one nation that worships our film stars, quite literally! Often wars between fans and fandoms can be seen on social platform, with every fan tries to prove why their favorite is better. But one such fan war amongst two people took sad turn recently when one ended up killing the other.
The incident that happened at Kolar in Karnataka on Sunday has shocked all, with the question hanging mid air whether Indian fans are taking up the reel world way for being real at times. Vinod Royal, who was a die hard fan of Tollywood star Pawan Kalyan was stabbed to death by Akshay Kumar, a Jr NTR fan over a heated discussion of who, amongst the two Tollywood stars was better.
According to Vemgal police officials, 24 year old Vinod was visiting Kolar for an organ donation camp which was attended by Telugu actor Suman. So when Vinod shouted ‘Jai Pawan’ towards the end of the programme, Sunil another NTR fan took offence. The two fans got into a brawl which was coolled off by the crowd. But later, Sunil got his friend Akshay to support him and during this unimportant argument, Akshay ended up stabbing Vinod with a knife.
Vinod Royal was rushed to the hopsital where he was announced dead.
To pay condolences to his deceased fan, the actor-turned-politician and brother of another South Superstar Cheeranjeevi K.Pawan Kalyan reached Vinod’s house. He was seen consoling his family members.
Pawan Kalyan expressed his disappointment over the incident. He said fighting over favourite actors is undesirable, we won’t like our fans to have clashed.
