While Rajya Sabha is currently witnessing a stormy session over various issues such as BulandShahr rape case, Dalit atrocities, urban apathy during Monsoons, the issue of Manohar Parrikar’s comments against Aamir Khan raked up another debate in the House.
Attacking Parrikar for making a comment against the Muslim Community through Aamir Khan, Ghulam Nabi Azad on Monday said, that the entire nation should be told what type of action and lessons he is going to teach the minorities of this country.
Sitaram Yechury, Congress also took up against Parrikar saying that when the Defense Minister of the country makes such comments, it is indeed a matter of importance. He retorted as to how could Parrikar make such a comment.
Soon after Nabi’s comments, Parrikar in his defence said that, the other members should see the video for themselves, and make up their mind about his remarks.
Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Saturday said anyone speaking against the country must be “taught a lesson” in the same way that an “actor” and an “online trading company” were taught.
“I am only trying to point out… if anyone speaks like this, he has to be taught a lesson of his life,” Parrikar said at a ceremony to launch the Marathi edition of a book by journalist Nitin Gokhale.
