Surprise Visit to Lucknow’s Hazratganj police station: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday surprised policemen at Lucknow’s Hazratganj police station as he carried out an unplanned inspection. He moved from one wing to the other. All the policemen looked nervous as it is rare for a chief minister to visit a local police station. Yogi Adityanath had a discussion with senior police officers and tried to understand how the department works. He also said Yogi Adityanath said that it would not be the last inspection and more inspections in all the government departments would be carried out.

Achche din for cows: Yogi has ordered a blanket ban on smuggling of cows and their killing. Ordering a blanket ban on smuggling of cows, UP CM Yogi Adityanath said that said zero tolerance would be exercised in this regard. Official sources did not specify the type of slaughterhouses which will be shut. However, the BJP manifesto had said that all the illegal slaughter houses would be closed and there would be a blanket ban on all the mechanised slaughterhouses.

Stressing that law and order is the top priority of the BJP government, he said that all-out efforts will be made to ensure safety and security of women and girls.

Officials can’t chew gutkha, pan masala in office: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today directed Uttar Pradesh government officials to stop chewing pan, pan masala etc when in office, after seeing betel-juice stained walls during his first visit to the secretariat annexe building here. “The chief minister visited all the floors of the annexe building and met officials posted there. After detecting betel stains on walls, he asked employees not to consume paan or paan masala during duty hours and ensure cleanliness,” Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, who accompanied Yogi, said.

‘Romeos’ not allowed: The Uttar Pradesh police on Wednesday issued orders to constitute “anti-Romeo squad” in 11 districts of the Lucknow zone to prevent eve-teasing. Soon after the order, cops were seen in action in parks and other places taking on couples. Cops are also raiding hotels with a “bad reputation.”
