The incident took place on March 13 which was declared as a dry day by the state government to prevent rambunctious happenings during the festival. The video went viral on social media last week after the police department denied to take action against the accused officials after a was complaint logged. As per bar owner Shivraj, the place was closed due to dry day, but three cops entered into the bar through the window and asked for expensive imported liquor as bribe. When the staff refused, the policemen started thrashing them. As per reports, one of the workers in the bar was beaten so brutally that he fainted, but when he got back into senses, he was beaten again as was later dragged to the police station where a false case was registered against him. As per the CCTV footage, the policemen not only took cartons of alcohol, but also looted cash from the counter.

When asked to comment upon the incident, a senior police official said it to be untrue as the cops were conducting legitimate raid after finding out that bar was running despite of the ban order. He also told media that alcohol cartons taken away by his men were not bribes, but material evidence that had been seized as part of the investigation.
