Rajasthan Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Ashok Parnami on Friday said that Vasundhara Raje’s shares in the Niyant Heritage Hotels were birthday gifts from her son and daughter-in-law.

“Dushyant [Singh] ji and his wife Niharika are the share holders in the Niyant Heritage Pvt Ltd. Niharika from her personal shareholdings gifted 1,615 shares to Vasundhara Raje on her birthday. Along with that, her son Dushyan 1,665 shares had gifted to her. This has been transferred from their personal share holding,” he told ANI.

“Chief Minister Vasundhara [Raje] ji has shown these shares in her Income Tax Returns and these have been made known to the Election Commission as well. There are no irregularities at all,” he added.

Earlier in the day, the Congress party stated that Raje’s election affidavit proves her direct financial involvement with Lalit Modi and called for her resignation.

“Vasundhara Raje’s 2013 election affidavit corroborates that she has 3280 shares in the Niyant Heritage Hotels. These documents now prove a direct financial involvement of Rajasthan’s Chief Minister with Lalit Modi. Raje’s election affidavit proves that she and Lalit Modi, a fugitive, are business partners,” Congress leader Ajoy Kumar had said.

Even if Rajajsthan's CM declared her shares in Income Tax return and Election affidavit, the Congress would not go with the rules. They determine to protest whatsoever, let us not forget P Chidambaram's involvement of Canbank Fairgrowth shares. If Raje's holding of shares are proved wrong, she has to face the legal process. Congress has no rights to ask her step down, with ulterior motive of destabilising her elected government

UPA I & II had never faced any obstacles in its path thanks to the crippled BJP leadership and the witch hunting, black mailing tactics and unleashing of CBI, ED, IT on Mulayam, Mayawati, Lallu etc. None dared to speak out. Mamata revolted first. Mulayam had backstabbed mamata during the issue of choosing presidential candidate. Ram Jethmalani was another rebel. LaMo was muted and driven out in exile. The pillars of democracy are Legislature, judiciary and executive. The media that is acting as champion of ethics and morality is running a parallel judiciary and are TOTALLY BIASED. The megalomaniac arnab runs the court and pronounces judgements and burqa announces the punishment for guilty. But the people's court is the ultimate. All of us will have to wait till Bihar elections to know the people's will. Rabble-rousing will fetch votes. Two weeks are completed for the 18 week Bihar election campaign. Modi should stick to RajDharma or good governance. Since many BJP workers are unhappy with Raje, the Rajastan CM may be replaced. Raje should be accomodated in Modi's ministry. All of us will have to Wait and watch
