People in Telangana’s Nalgonda district left everyone frenzied after a van toppled near Vemulapalli village’s Shettipalem junction. The van toppled while trying to save an animal that suddenly came in front of the vehicle. Following this, the villagers rushed to help the driver thinking that he might be hurt but the driver had escaped. But what happened next was a surprise. The small van was carrying hundreds of beer crates and the bottles came tumbling down after the accident. The villagers were excited seeing the beer bottles scattered on the road and took as many bottles as they could. A video of this incident has gone viral on social media platforms in which people can be seen collecting the bottles. However, FinancialExpress.com cannot verify the authenticity of the video.
As per The Indian Express report, the truck was moving the beverages to Huzur Nagar in Suryapet district from Nalgonda, where it was brewed. The police rushed to the spot on being informed and later kept guarding the remaining bottles until another vehicle was arranged for the transportation, the report added. SI Rajasekhar Reddy told the Hindu that There was an initial frenzy, but we contained the situation soon. According to the police, the loss from the spillage and theft estimated to be around Rs 50,000 for the 350 boxes of beer.

Earlier, in April 2017, a similar incident took place in Karnataka. A truck carrying cartons of beer bottles turned turtle on NH4 near Tumour in Karnataka after it met with an accident, reports said. All the cartons of beer fell on the road after the truck turned turtle after reportedly hitting a car. Within minutes of the accident, the opportunist locals rushed to the spot and fled with beer bottles.
