An anti-immigration website ‘SaveAmericanITJobs.com’ has posted a video titled ‘Welcome to Columbus Ohio suburbs – Let’s take a walk to Indian park’ featuring photos and videos of Indian families relaxing in a public park in Columbus, Ohio. Its description mentions how wealthy Indian families moved to suburban homes in Ohio that resulted in the ‘displacement of Americans’.
The video has been shot by a 66-year-old computer programmer from Virginia named Steve Pushor who also happens to be the creator of the website, according to BuzzFeed. In the video, Pushor can be heard saying, “The number of people from foreign countries blows my mind out here. You see this whole area is all Indian, amazing. An amazing number of jobs have been taken away from Americans. The Indian crowd has ravished the Midwest. It’s a takeover.” He even goes on to describe the park as ‘mini Mumbai’.
However Pushor told BuzzFeed that he is merely highlighting the loss of American IT jobs, and he neither advocates violence nor does he want Indians currently living in the US to leave the country. The video was shot 6 months ago and has been viewed 460,810 times.

Meanwhile, Barely two weeks after an Indian engineer Srinivas Kutchibhotla became a victim of hate crime in Kansas in the US, another NRI businessman of Gujarati origin was shot dead in Lancaster in South Carolina. Harnish, 43, who originally hails from Avakhal village in Sinor taluka of Vadodara district had been living in the US with his family for over 14 years. Patel’s killing comes just two days after US President Donald Trump condemned the killing of Kuchibhotla in a pub in Kansas. According to reports, officials of Lancaster police say that they are yet to ascertain a motive behind Harnish’s killing, which appears to be ‘racially motivated’.
