(Source: Twitter)Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi will visit Gorakhpur today in connection with the death of children in the BRD medical college hospital. The news was confirmed by Congress district unit president Sayed Jamal. So far, 71 children have lost their lives in the BRD hospital since August 7 due to various causes including encephalitis. Some of the deaths were alleged to have been caused by the shortage of oxygen, a claim dismissed by the Uttar Pradesh government. Rahul’s visit comes on the same day when Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath too visited the city and inaugurate ‘Swachch Uttar Pradesh – Swasthya Uttar Pradesh campaign’ which will be carried out between August 20-25 in all the districts. After announcing the campaign, the Uttar Pradesh chief minister took a dig at Congress VP by saying that Gorakhpur visit is like a picnic to him.
