Fawad Khan, on Friday finally spoke about the controversies surrounding him leaving the country, in the aftermath of the Uri attack and the ultimatum given by the MNS. According to the Pakistani actor’s official Facebook page, he has been in Lahore since July, owing to the birth of his second child. The post stated that though, the actor had received numerous requests from various media organisations and well-wishers around the world to provide them with his views on the “incidents” (Uri attack & surgical strikes), this is the first time he is speaking on the matter.
He said that as a father of two children, he prays and wishes to build and live in a better and more peaceful world like many others do. He further expressed his belief that the people owe it to their children as they are the ones who would shape the future of the world. He requested his fans to disregard any other statements that have been attributed to him.
He went on to thank his fans in India, Pakistan and people, in general, all over the world for their continued support and their belief in love and understanding to unite a divisive world. Indian media has been ripe with debates questioning as to why Fawad has not issued any statement condemning the Uri attack. Furthermore, false statements attributed to the actor had been made public by unverified websites, which had then become viral resulting the actor receiving severe criticism.
