In what might be called as stirring up hornet’s nest, a minister from Uttar Pradesh equated Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Raavana, a day after the latter visited Lucknow and called for putting an end to Raavna like social-evils. Labour welfare advisor of state minister rank Mohammad Abbas while talking about PM Modi’s presence in Lucknow on Dusshera, asked, that those whose policies are a reflection of Raavan’s evil designs, how can they come to UP and call for putting an end to the same.
TOI reports that without taking PM Modi’s name directly, Abbas attacked the former for “benefitting” people like Adani and Ambani while the common man suffered. He added that a true Ram Rajya is where the poor are taken care of.
Abbas asserted that no matter what BJP does, SP will come back to power again.
To this, BJP was quick to respond. Party’s UP vice-president Suresh Rana while taking a swipe at the Samajwadi Party said that the reign of Raavana is symbolized when a 14-year-old girl is gang-raped and a minister (referring to Azam Khan) calls it a “conspiracy.”
Rana added that it is SP who is the real demon and needs to be ousted from the “established” Ram Rajya.
