On Chhatrapati Shivaji’s birthday when Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a speech in Fatehpur ahead of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, he provided many inspirational lessons about the leader. However, considering this was an election rally, Modi didn’t leave any stone unturned to take a jibe at UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over the Samajwadi Party-Congress alliance. Here are five significant take-aways from his speech on Sunday.
‘All can become Chhatrapati Shivaji ‘
“I bow to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on his Jayanti. India is proud that a valorous and great soul like him was born on our land. Shivaji Maharaj placed wellbeing of his people above everything.” He told people that people of the nation can become ‘Siva ji’ and fulfill his dream by providing their service. “Deshwasi ‘Siva ji’ ban sakte hain aur Sivaji Maharaj ka sapna seva ke madhyam se pura kar sakte hain.”
‘BJP winning in UP as its rallies always the biggest’
He also suggested that BJP may win the UP polls as their rallies gather a huge mass of people. “We take a rally out in a district or even the state people will say it is a “big rally”. “Ek zile ki nahi, agar ek rajya ki rally bhi karengey phir bhi log kahenge kitni badi rally hai,” he said.
‘Childhood inspiration to feel for the poor’
PM promised to provide gas and electricity in every village saying that his mother used to cook in a hearth and he understood and felt her plight. “Meri Ma zindagi bhar lakdi ke chulhe par khana banati thi, unka dard meine dekha aur mahsoon kiya hai,” he said.
‘Is Congress-SP alliance as pious as a rapist’s mind?’
He took a dolling jibe at Akhilesh Yadav saying that he started his campaigning in UP with Gayatri Prajapati, who has been accused in a gang-rape case, exclaiming that UP wants to know is the SP-Congress alliance pious like Prajapati?. “Akhileshji ne chunav abhiyan Prajapati k chunav prachar se shuru kiya;UPjana chahti hai kya SP-Cong alliance Prajapati jitna pavitra hai?,” said Modi.
